Abby North is the principal of North Music Group, a music publisher and rights administrator based in Los Angeles that works with composers, estates, artists and labels to maximize the revenue of their music catalogs. In addition to working with legacy artists/estates and composers including The Ventures, David Rose, Allyn Ferguson, Powell St. John, Pete Carpenter and Snuff Garrett, Abby manages the catalog of her father-in-law, fifteen-time Academy Award nominee (and the first composer to win a Lifetime Achievement Oscar) Alex North, composer of film scores including “Spartacus,” “Cleopatra,” “Death of A Salesman,” “A Streetcar Named Desire” and more.
North Music Group’s production music libraries have recently contributed music to Hollywood Medium, Wahlburgers, Nightwatch, The Age of Us, Pitbulls and Parolees, Donnie Loves Jenny, Killer Kids, Lockup, Nightwatch, According to Alex and more.
Abby received a BA from UCLA and later completed UCLA Extension’s Film Scoring program led by renowned composer/conductor Don Ray. Although her current focus is rights management, Abby has 20 years of experience working as a composer, producer, sound mixer and music supervisor.
Abby is a member of the Guild of Music Supervisors and the Television Academy. She is currently music supervising A&E’s two-time Emmy-nominated series Wahlburgers.
