Alicen Schneider heads up the creative music division and West Coast music operations for NBCUniversal Television. In this position, she over-sees an in-house music supervision team who collectively supervise a multitude of series that are produced by Universal Television and Universal Cable Productions such as Master Of None, The Sinner, Suits, AP Bio and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. In addition, Alicen covers everything relating to music across the NBCU family of Studios and Networks, which includes working with producers to troubleshoot with respect to music procedures, consulting on stunt casting and on-camera performances, vetting budget and labor questions and identifying the appropriate licensing and creative personnel for day to day management of the series. She also recommends and hires composers, oversees soundtrack releases and occasionally finds time to music supervise. Notable past supervision projects include “Childhood’s End”, “Heroes Reborn“, “Being Human”, “Heroes”, “Grimm”, “Royal Pains”, “Lipstick Jungle”, “Crossing Jordan” as well as promos over the years for various shows, branding campaigns and the Olympics. She also contributes additional support for co-production and third party partnerships as needed.
Alicen was one of the first music supervisors to recognize the value of showcasing emerging and established artists for producers, executives and other Studio and Network personnel. Occasionally, Alicen and her team still host mini concerts in their suite of offices.
Before joining NBCUniversal, Alicen was an A&R assistant in the Film and Television division of Warner Special Products and was also a college DJ for LA’s acclaimed alternative radio station KXLU-FM. She resides in Los Angeles with her daughter and composer boyfriend, two cats and prefers to spend her free time walking the neighborhood while listening to podcasts, baking, traveling, reading, binge watching shows and hanging out with friends and family.
