Music supervisor Maggie Phillips has lent her expertise to create the unique sounds of numerous TV shows and films. Phillips is currently the music supervisor for AMC’s new comedy series, “Dietland,” starring Joy Nash and Julianna Margulies, season two of Hulu’s Golden Globe and Emmy-winning series, “The Handmaid’s Tale,” starring Ann Dowd, Elisabeth Moss and Samira Wiley, and FX’s hit series, “Legion,” starring Dan Stevens and Aubrey Plaza. Her music coordination can also be heard in the upcoming 2019 Warner Bros. comedy “Isn’t It Romantic,” starring Adam Devine, Liam Hemsworth and Rebel Wilson.
Phillips also worked on FX’s Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series “Fargo,” starring Ewan McGregor, Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson and David Thewlis. Additionally, she supervises music for Starz’s “Counterpart,” starring J.K. Simmons, Epix’s Golden Globe-nominated “Graves,” starring Nick Nolte, FX’s John Singleton series, “Snowfall,” and the Netflix original sci-fi show, “Altered Carbon.”
In addition to television, Phillips has selected music for more than 30 independent and feature films. She is best known for her music supervision on Barry Jenkins’s Golden Globe-winning and Academy Award-winning film, “Moonlight,” starring Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris. She recently worked on the Sundance Grand Jury Prize-winner, “The Miseducation of Cameron Post,” starring Chloë Grace Moretz, the action drama film, “The Pirates of Somalia,” starring Al Pacino, Evan Peters and Barkhad Abdi, and Grammy-winning director Jesse Peretz’s romantic comedy, “Juliet, Naked,” starring Rose Byrne and Chris O’Dowd. She also supervised music for the Sundance Grand Jury Prize-nominee, “Ingrid Goes West,” starring Aubrey Plaza.
Phillips has a long work history with The Duplass Brothers whom she met while attending University of Texas at Austin. She collaborated with them on projects such as HBO’s thriller series, “Room 104,” and “Togetherness,” the SXSW and Sundance film, “Cyrus,” starring Jonah Hill, and the TIFF film, “Jeff, Who Lives at Home,” starring Jason Segel.
