Mike Boris

Mike Boris is an award-winning, commercial music supervisor, producer and music strategist,
who connects people and brands utilizing music’s power and passion.

Initially cutting his teeth as an engineer at JSM Music he switched to the agency side, starting
as a music producer at Ogilvy & Mather, VP Head of Music at Bates, and rising to SVP Head of
Music at McCann Erickson for nearly a decade.where he helped to created
iconic work! Partnering with Holiday Inn, they created a Bronze Pencil winning record label
that catapulted Kyle Andrews’ new single, “You Always Make Me Smile”. He was a trusted
partner of Weight Watchers as their sales spiked in conjunction with Jennifer Hudson and her
cover “New Day”. He worked with Mark Isham on the anthem for the U.S Army’s “Army Strong”
campaign. Moreover. I spearheaded creative music assignments for MasterCard, Wendy’s,
Intel, General Mills, Verizon, Gillette and many more. On Kohl’s, for one campaign alone, I
helped express the styles of the proprietary fashion lines of Lenny Kravitz, Avril Levine and
Vanessa Carelton through their music, and even produced an original symphony with Bruce
Hornsby for Buick.

Even after leaving McCann and co-founding Groove Guild, and is currently an in demand consultant
for brands, agencies, music companies and publishers.

To date he has worked on over 7,000 projects. Mike has consulted for countless agencies including Johannes Leonardo, DAVID, Digitas, Saatchi, Havas, Y&R, Team One, Ferrara & Company, JWT, Combe, Lloyd & Co, Devito Verdi, Carl Byrd, BoomAgers. Impacting big name brands like MasterCard, Weight Watchers, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Walmart, Toyota, Barney’s NY, Pepsi, Coke, iHome and Estée Lauder. Mike has produced with tons of artists, including Jennifer Hudson for Weight Watchers, Nick Jonas for Acuvue, Jennifer Lopez, Avril Lavigne, Plain White T’s, Lenny Kravitz and Vanessa
Carlton for Kohl’s, Sister’s Beyonce and Solonge Knowles for L’oreal, Mark Isham for US Army, Bruce Hornsby for GM and Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith) for Ferria. He has also indie’d it up by working with countless up-and-coming artists over the years who have provided music for different brands.

He’s a proud father to two beautiful girls: a ballerina and a musical theatre actor/singer. And when he’s not tapping into his drummer roots making sweet noise in his home studio, he’s centering himself in his wife’s yoga classes.
